- Basic Overview: The Li River, part of the Pearl River system, is the upper reach of the Gui River.


It originates from Mao'er Mountain in Xing'an County, Guilin, Guangxi, with a total length of 214 kilometers. The 83-kilometer stretch from Guilin to Yangshuo forms the most picturesque and iconic section.
